We read these flashcard sounds like this:

"A says /a/, /a/, apple."

"B says /b/, /b/, bird."

You can use these in many different ways. The following are some suggestions: 

  • Print 2 copies and play Memory or Go Fish 

  • Use as flashcards for naming letters  

  • Use as flashcards for naming sounds 

  • Draw a card and write a word that begins with that sound 

  • Build an alphabet train (put the letters in order)

Letter/Sound Cards
Kindergarten Words 

 

These are the words that your child is expected to be able to read by the end of kindergarten. We will focus on about 8 words each month. Your child should learn to read these in a "snap"! This means that they should not sound out the word; instead, they should just look at it and automatically recognize it. 

Alphabet Chart 

 

Print this out and hang it on your fridge! These are the pictures we use to help trigger our memory for each letter sound.

100s Chart

Use this to help your child count by both 1s and 10s. Encourage your child to touch each number as they say it. 

Number Handwriting

Use this to help your child practice writing their numerals and also as a checklist for counting.

Letter Handwriting

Use this to help your child practice writing their uppercase and lowercase letters.
